[Pennsic] Pennsic Camp Notes

Thanks for the notes! We'll be sure to bring our camp fee when we come a week from Friday. Current plan is to be on site by 8 a.m. (don't worry, we won't wake folks up....), though it could be earlier if traffic's extra good over night.

I just want to confirm a couple of things:

We'll be bringing our 10x10 (not the 10x20) for kitchen. Anyone who wants to use the facility of the kitchen is welcome, only rule is to clean up after yourself. Depending on which pans we bring, my husband might have some special info on that (hun, are you planning to bring the cast iron?)

I hope I'm recalling correctly that there's a shower; do we need to bring anything for that (extra gas cannisters or anything?) One thing that we have done in past years is go out and buy a sink (cheap plastic laundry tub type) to make washing pots and dishes (though we're thinking paper this year, frankly) easier. Assuming I'm remembering correctly about the shower, would there be space within reach of the sump and water-to-camp spot to set up the sink? Again, that would be for common use.

I cannot believe it's that soon.... I've only got 8 work days and 2 weekend days before our pack day... aak. Oh, well, there's always making a laundry run if we really have to ....

Greetings Pennsic Campers!

A few final notes before we leave for Land Grab (Friday)...

- If you can find neither Padraig nor me when you arrive at camp, please look around for stakes in the ground. One (or several if corners were being marked) will have your name on it. That is where you should set-up. Please do not choose another location before talking with either Padraig or me. If you do, you will probably have to take it all down and move it, even if you did a really nice job of creating a home away from home. We will not have as large an open area through the camp this year (more people, more tents), so placement and timing are critical.

- If you have not yet paid the camp fee, just bring it with you to camp ($10 per person) -- in cash, please. Additionally, there will be a sign-up sheet in camp for everyone to take a turn with the few camp chores (filling and lighting communal tiki torches, patrolling for trash, taking any camp trash to the dumpster).

- Check out Pennsicwar.org for answers to just about any question you might have regarding check-in requirements, emergency numbers, site rules, etc. The large PDF On-site Book is what you will be given at Troll, so you really don't have to print it out. However, you could leave it so those at home know what you will be enjoying... ;^)

- Have a safe drive west! Remember, PA requires headlights to be on when driving through a construction zone, and there are several between here and Butler.
