Greetings to all who will be attending Pennsic!!! I have attached a pdf
file of an awesome Pennsic Scheduling Booklet for one and all to print and
use. It came in quite handy last year not only for keeping track of classes,
but expenses, gatherings, parties and general notetaking.

I will go ahead and introduce myself for those who do not know me as a
member of the Shire of Caer Adamant although for this Pennsic I will not be
camping with the Shire. I go by Valentina Barrows in the SCA, and hold the
offices of Minister of Arts and Sciences, and Chronicler. I am a "jack of all
trades and master of none" as I make my own garb, do some embroidery, pewter
casting, have made cordials, viking wire weaving, learning the recorder, and a
beginner at Middle Eastern Dance. I am also learning to spin fire (poi).
While I dabble in quite a bit, I have realized that "service" is more my main
interest (and talent) so I am beginning to travel down that path in a more
focused manner. For this year, I will be camping in E06 (EK Royal). My
primary responsibility is that of inventorying the gifts received by TRM and
making sure Thank You Notes get sent out. Also, I will be involved with many
of TRM activities, and occasionally tagging along as a Lady in Waiting. It
will be a "working" Pennsic but it should be a lot of fun.

With that said, I encourage everyone to volunteer in some capacity, it truly
can be quite fun...Chirurgeon's Point (you need not be a Chirurgeon, they
can use you as a scribe), Security (I had a great time last year on cart patrol;
plus you can also wander the merchant area, keeping an eye out for potential
problems, and shopping at the same time), Troll (everyone is happy when they
arrive at Troll!!), Newcomers Point, the A & S Tent (they only need you for
15 minutes at a time). Check here for more opportunities: _PENNSIC WAR 34 -
 Volunteer Opportunities_
(http://www.pennsicwar.org/penn34/GENERAL/volunteers.html) I believe, but am not sure, that volunteer time contributes to war
points for your Kingdom. If this is the case, the East Kingdom may be
outnumbered this year, so all help will be needed !!!

I look forward to seeing all of you at Pennsic!!!

Yours in Service,

Valentina
