Greetings all,

I am sorry for not getting this posted on this list earlier, but maybe
it is not too late for some of you to make plans.

Next weekend, on November 11, we are having an official practice at
the Heritage harvest Farm in Boonesboro, MD near Hagerstown/Frederick
Maryland area (central MD just where I-85 and I-70 come together.)

We have rental horses available, or you can bring your own. Rental
horses are $30.00 and we ask all riders to donate an additional $5.00
to help offset the extra water/electricity/firewood usage and cover
cost of a portapotty should we have enough people show up that we
would need one.

We usually do a potluck lunch and dinner on Saturday. Along with a
breakfast on Saturday morning for those who stayed the night before.

Tents are ok, though this time of year you may want to make
arrangements to "crash" in the house. Jenna's Mom has always been very
gracious and welcoming, giving up her house so we can sleep in
comfort. (Bring your own mattress/cot/bedding stuff). Be sure to
contact Katrin if you want crash space so she can let you know if
there is still space.

Below is the flyer I usually post with more details:

Northern Mounted Cavalry practices for 2006

Greetings riders of Northern Atlantia. It is with great delight that I
announce the second year of our regions regular mounted cavalry
practices. I would like to thank Katrin Boniface and Jennifer Smedley
(and her mother) for volunteering their farm to host the practices in
the north central region of Maryland and Virginia, and their house for
those of us who have to stay overnight.

Here are the details:

Northern regional Atlantian Mounted Cavalry practices have been
scheduled for the rest of 2006.

The dates are:
Sat, April 22 – rained out – got to trail ride though! Also had an
awesome cookout in the rain.
Sat, May 13 - cancelled
Sat, July 22 (NOTE: changed from the 15th)

Sun, September 3 (Baronial Practice – Marinus in Grandy, NC)

(Fri- Sun November 17-19 Marinus event – Herbst Angessen, Grandy, NC)
Sat, December 9
Take a break in Jan, Feb and Mar of 2007 due to possible bad weather.
(May have practices in Marinus at the brewery site in Grandy, NC)

In the case of inclement weather at the site, the practices will be
canceled. All money will be refunded if practice is canceled.

Practices will start at 10 am and end at 6 pm with a potluck dinner
following. Bring something to share if you plan to stay for dinner.
Try to be at the site by 9 am to get the horses ready and help set up
the field.

The site is Heritage Harvest Farm in Boonsboro, Maryland. You can
learn more about the site at http://www.heritageharvest.com

the address is 17159 Sprecher Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713 (301) 223-6731.

For those in the area they offer lessons and summer camp for children.
Please check out their web site and get in touch with them if you are
interested in taking lessons.

Fees:
Rental horses will be available on a first reserved basis at $30.00
per rider for the practice.

All riders are asked to donate $5.00 to the farm to cover usage of
their facilities for the day. (Which includes cost of porta-castle
rental if needed.)

Horses staying overnight will be charged a $10.00 fee for a stall per night.

Camping is available on-site and there are hotels and regular
campgrounds in the near vicinity. Camping is free at the farm but
there is no water or electric hookups where we would be camping. Water
and electric are available at the barn.

Riders may request a specific rental horse. Those who rode the horse
at previous practices will have preference over others. This is to
help build a rapport between horse and rider. We encourage you to try
to ride the same horse at each practice you attend when possible.

Turn in one of these forms for each practice date. Send in one form
per person please.
