[Populace] Swamp Thynge

[Marietta]

This weekend past our Faire Shire hosted Swamp Thynge, in conjunction with
Tropical Depression Ernesto. While we thought that combining the two would
make for a significantly greater turnout, but we were wrong.

 We had about 95 brave people, including travelers from points North, South
and West (not many from the East).
There was an A&S Populace Choice Competition as well as a number of classes
offered.
The Shire Heavy Fighting Champion was chosen, and of course, we had Archery.


In particular, I would like to thank Padraig, Conal, Pappy and Hedewigis
who all spent a great deal of time prior to the event preparing not only
targets but anything that needed it. I would also like to thank my Deputy
Autocrat, Tomaloc, who put up with *my attitude* through the whole thing ;)

JehanYves prepared a wonderful Roast Pig for Saturday night, while Ravenild
took care of the rest of day's foods. Amari prepared her first Dayboard on
Sunday and it was as delightful as she is.

Kael ran Troll like the champ he is, Serena provided beautiful tokens and
organized the classes, and of course none of it could have been done without
the random help from various hands here and there that did things to make
work lighter for everyone.

The potluck feast on Saturday night was phenominal, lots of sides and
desserts were brought to make for a huge selection. I look forward to many
more of those!
