Once again it is time for me to make some beer. On Sunday,
Sept 24, 2006, I will be making an early start of it. I will mash in
an all grain Raspberry Honey Wheat starting at about 10:00 AM. After
it gets into the mash tun, I will be starting the boil on an extract,
English Strong Bitter (ESB).
Any one who has any interest in how beer is made is welcome
to come and observe. The all grain process will last until about 3:00
or 4:00 PM. There will be a grill available for grilling, and I might
be persuaded to break into a few meads for sampling.
While I brew beer, Teofilia will be available for
consultation on sewing / knitting / almost any craft that you can
think of (she's done most of them at one time or another) and she has
an assortment of sewing machines if you want help or just some machine time.
Planning for shop time in the wood shop can happen at the
same time, but I will be busy with the beer and shop work will not be
available at this date.
We have a rather extensive library of period cooking, and
brewing references and as we have as yet not had a book that didn't
come home, we are willing to loan. If you wish to research a cooking
or brewing project, this would be a good time to come over. Cook
books are now cataloged
at http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?view=Jehan-Yves
Brewing books to come soon.
